JAMES DIXON – CREATOR OF DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. SCULPTURE

9 Dec

We invite you to meet James Dixon at the fund raising event at our gallery Thursday, December 14th. Both painter and sculptor, James will create a life-sized version of a sculpture of Dr. King ” Bus Stop – Going Home, Faithful Servant” to be donated to the Martin Luther King Jr. Early College. The funds raised will be used to create an inspiring tribute to both the iconic American for whom the school is named, as well as the students, who are overcoming hurdles to grasp all that they reach for. The school provides a rigorous pre- collegiate and technology based curriculum focusing on student empowerment and respecting cultural diversity in a safe environment. James has established himself over a thirty year period as both a locally and nationally known  artist of two and three dimensional art. His work has been displayed by the Denver Public Library and the Dayton Memorial Library as well as collected by numerous individuals and private institutions. We as a gallery feel honored to be involved in this endeavor and encourage all of our friends and clients to attend.                     M.O.
