Hal Rice studied Fine Arts at the Kansas City Art Institute after serving a tour of duty in the U.S. Navy. After a visit to Colorado, the beauty of the state inspired a relocation of the family to what has been home ever since. Hal combined careers in interior design and fine arts and excelled at both of these compatible fields. He studied the proprietary technique of Marble Dust Painting with Pawel Kontny, one of the innovators of this unique and difficult mediums, until he mastered and refined it. Mr. Rice’s paintings have been shown at the American Watercolor Society, and are in private and corporate collections both here and abroad.
